I went there primarily to get away from Anchorage and to take advantage of the Fall colors that were spectacular. The cabin is poorly positioned and gets no direct sunlight except during the summer. It is also a poor place to tie up a plane especially in a northerly wind. There is no hiking except after the ground freezes,, and there was not much wildlife my belief being that most of the furbearers have been trapped out with little or no regulation. The cabin is tight with a good stove. The crosscut saw was broken and the door requires some weather stripping. The cabin has a super view of Redoubt and Mt. Spurr on the horizon. The boat and oars were in good shape, and there are life jackets.
