Cabin was nice. We went from the trailhead to the cabin in our canoe. It was SO windy that we had trouble keeping the canoe moving forward. On our full day at the cabin we didn't take the canoe into the lake because there were white caps and 2-foot waves crashing on the shore. Apparently, the heavy wind is a normal occurrence. There were lots of entries in the cabin log book about seriously windy days, and even capsizing watercraft. If we were to go again, we'd walking to the cabin on the 1-mile trail. If it isn't windy, and you want to go out on the lake, there is a rowboat at the cabin. If it is windy, there are alternatives to being on the water. We went hiking on the Seven Lakes Trail instead.
