What Guests Are Saying

South Rolly Lake Campground is a family favorite, offering clean facilities and rentals for boats and paddleboards. It's conveniently located about 1.5 hours from Anchorage, with first-come, first-served camping sites and multiple access points to the lake. While there are some minor issues with site labeling and payment procedures, the campground provides a great environment for relaxation and swimming.

Great campground about 1.5 hour drive from Anchorage. There’s a fee station early on the road on the way in, but you don’t have to stop and pay there. Go in, find a camp site first, then pay at the station near the sites. Nearly all sites are first come first serve. It looked like the only exception was a handicapped spot, but it was not clear how you would reserve it. The site labels on the map do not match the label’s physically on the sites, weird but not an issue. Plenty of access points to the lake including a wooden dock. Great spot for hanging out on a lake and it was warm enough with the sun out for swimming.

Beautiful campground with nearly 100 sites. Great lake for swimming and canoeing and a great and a sand pit perfect for setting up a volleyball net. They also have canoe rentals on site.

Super busy weekend, July 6, 7, & 8 ~we were lucky to get a nice shady camping spot! A bit spendy, $20 for overnight tent, $25 for on the lake, prime spots. Lots of kids swimming in the lake and a fun toddler/kid sand pit with shallow water and room for volleyball :) Rent a canoe for $22 for 8 hours ~$32 for 24 hours, kayaks available too. Our spot, A-11, we have a large tent, plenty of room! (with two levels above us, enough room for two more tents) Picnic tables, fire pits, in each spot.
Great hike, Red Shirt Trail, 2.9 miles one way. About 2.5 hour hike round trip. We we're hoping for a trout, we settled for one little pike. Fun times!!

There are some really secluded campsites if you get here early. This place fills up fast on a Friday evening. Very dog friendly. This is definitely a "campground" that has campers and motorhomes, but plenty of tent or car camping spots.

We stayed up very late and were never bothered (but stayed relatively quiet). Normal spots are $20 a night and premium spots are $25. So a bit pricey. Every campsite is only a couple minute walk to the lake.

Fishing is great. They stock the lake with trout. Lots of pike to catch as well. Definitely bring a rod an reel! No motor boats allowed on the lake. Paddle or electric only. You can rent canoes here and there is a small launch ramp/dock.
