About Little Dry Island Cabin
Little Dry Island Cabin offers a secluded retreat on the Stikine River Delta in the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness, with expansive views of the surrounding grassflats. The cabin is popular for bird watching, waterfowl hunting and as a paddling destination.
The site can be accessed by float plane or shallow draft boat, depending on conditions. Little Dry Island is 12 mi by air or boat from Wrangell, or 7 mi from the boat ramp on the south side of Mitkof Island. Access to the cabin requires at least a 15-foot tide for boats and a 17-foot tide for float planes. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own amenities.

Excellent quick get away from town. We went in on a 14.8 ft tide with a prop and barely made it in so a 15 ft tide or more is definitely recommended like they say. Cabin was cozy but there is a pretty good gap around the front door and upstairs “draw cord” window which would be nice if they were a little more air tight which would save on the amount of wood you need to burn. There was a flock of maybe 5,000 snow geese on the far end that was pretty amazing to watch. Bring at least 2 anchors so you can make sure you skiff sets down in the slough in the right orientation.

Access to the cabin generally requires a 15-foot tide for a shallow draft boat or a 17-foot tide for a float plane, plus a short walk to the cabin. Tides affect access to this cabin. Please consult local tide tables .
Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
