Beautiful campground. Friendly camp hosts. Extremely well maintained and clean campground. My campsite was located near the restrooms and had plenty of room for my tow vehicle, camper trailer, and even enough space to set up my Clam. Cell service was surprisingly good.

What a beautiful national park! We were in site 42 but I think all of the sites are fairly the same. We loved the saguaro standing guard at the front of our rig and loved how, even though the sites are close, the vegetation gives you some privacy. We were there on Christmas Day so the Visitor's Center was closed but we really enjoyed the drive on Ajo Road. We had come with plenty of water but it was nice to see the spigots randomly placed throughout the campground in case you need to refill. There was plenty of sun so we never needed to run our generator but some sites are designated for generators and some are not, so if generator noise bothers you just select a site away from those generator sites.

Enjoyed hiking the Estes Canyon trail again. One of our favorite hikes anywhere.

Having water, a sani-dump station and solar-powered warm showers is great. Don’t let the layout on the campground map mislead you. The map makes the campground look like a huge parking lot but there is plenty of separation between campsites. It’s a dark skies site so we were able to see the Milky Way and so many stars. Another plus is the option to park away from the generator-using RVs if quiet is a priority. This is the place to be for serenity.

The campground and the park themselves were beautiful. We felt safe in the park and staying overnight. However, the park volunteers were borderline harassing us at the generator loop. They have strict hours and will wait at your rv door to remind you to turn it off the minute the hour turns. The rangers were very friendly and kind but their volunteers were not.

The campground and restrooms within are clean. My only complaint isn't solely to this campground but the park system nationwide and that is it should allow for reservations to be made at anytime of the day. This allowing those just traveling through to be able to pay for a spot the night they stay. That way there's no confusion with camp hosts the next morning when they are checking occupied spaces.
