We had an enjoyable stay. The ranch house is located in a wonderful location. Unfortunately the people who stayed before us did not clean up the house, and they had a dog (dogs are not permitted). We spent a couple of hours cleaning the first full day. The Forest Service needs to empty the outside garbage container. Yes, we cleaned the house before we left

Wonderful ranch house. Screen door needs fixing badly. Campground is closed so be prepared to park outside the gates and walk-in to the trail heads. Pond teaming with birds and fish.

I enjoyed my stay- great location and amazing setting. Excellent privacy as the gate is lockable and the property is fenced. Superb views. The only minor ding is the water running from the tap and shower is hyper chlorinated to the point where I chose not to shower during the two nights I stayed. But as the signs say coming into the stronghold: no drinking water available. I would stay again for one or two nights for sure.

We had a great time hanging with family. Looking for wildlife? There were a lot of birds and deer. It was a bit chilly during our visit. So hanging out in the community areas was a bit cold even with a fire going. Bedrooms were comfortable. Most of us only got occasional pings on our phones- but a Verizon hotspot had occasional service... but not much. We will definitely return.

Lovely home for a group. 6 was just perfect. Two bedrooms with baths and 2 futons in living room. Plenty of cookware and dishes. The woodstove in the livingroom helped keep us warm and comfortable (fireplace in dining room is not maintained). The pond out front was great for birdwatching and the Bench trail was nice for sunrise and sunsets.

More cleaning supplies and maybe clean out the shop vacuum once in a while because no one else did. The suction was so bad I did a mediocre job cleaning it out.

Lovely peaceful cabin very close to wonderful trails. Lots of dirt roads for biking too. My only complaints are the “fully equipped” kitchen has only 1 drinking glass and there is no heat in the kitchen or dining room, I had to turn the oven on to warm up the kitchen one cold morning.
