Used to be we just pulled up, picked a site and paid cash in an envelope at the check-in kiosk.
Now we have to book ahead of time on a website and there is an additional $8 booking fee. This is a very disappointing turn of events

I enjoy camping at this campground. It is in beautiful area of the Gila River watershed.

This campground is now reservation only for every site. 8 dollars a day plus the 8 dollar reservation fee. WAY to high for a campground with NO WATER. There was plenty of empty campsites. Why not have some first come first serve? Nobody there was happy about the high fee, considering no water, or the reservation only.

Amazing density and clarity of petroglyphs. You have to view from behind a fence but that's understandable. We camped there and it was very nice. Wide, spacious, level sites. Dark sky and very quiet. Enjoyed the visit!

This is an online reservation only. It would work better as a first come first serve location. No camp host and no policing of campers that come in and take reserved sites.

Loved the park. Excellent site, levelled and private. Really enjoyed the walk and learning experience.
