This campground is a gem waiting to be discovered! It’s serene perfection(priceless) for $8 night! Great sites, easy access worth the drive.

Campground is about 10 mi off highway on a long paved road.. then just a bit off on a dirt road. It’s very easy to get to and good signage to find campsites. Not much there except large desert area. Lots of camping spots. It was clean and felt safe. The petroglyph rocks are in the center of the campground and are pretty interesting. Otherwise , not much to do here but good for an overnight or if you had a group of friends camping together. There are fire pits, picnic tables and vault toilets

While appearing to be a barren desert location, there are nice biking and plenty of hiking opportunities. We lucked out by seeing a jackrabbit, a number of birds and a beautiful great horned owl while out and about. The campground was busier than normal for a holiday weekend but was mostly quiet and campers respectful.

No one was at the campground. High fuel prices certainly were part of the problem, however no good spaces were available unless you made a reservation and committed to a prepaid period of time. This campground has in the past had many 1-5 night campers and due to only small and poor sites being available few campers stayed for more than a night or two with some driving in and leaving the same day.

An out of the way campground with beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Extremely quiet. The spaces are quite spacious and not too close together. Loved the peacefulness. There are trails and roads to venture on and explore while your here. I highly recommend if your looking for a little peace and quiet.
