About Mather Campground

Due to high demand, Mather Campground recommends reservations during peak season: March 1- November 30. You may book reservations up to 6 months in advance. Mather Campground is on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. Grand Canyon is one of the most inspiring landscapes on Earth and draws over five million visitors per year to its spectacular scenery. Mather Campground is large and can accommodate a variety of needs and comfort levels. It is the only campground within Grand Canyon Village. Scenic overlooks, the park's free shuttle bus system, the Visitor Center, the general store and hiking and biking trails are all within a few miles of the campground.. The campground is at an elevation of approximately 7 ft. (2134 m). Summers are sunny with high temperatures generally in the 80s. Thunderstorms frequently occur in July, August, and early September. Fall and spring are mostly sunny and cool with occasional snow. Visitors should come prepared for changes in weather.

Lovely campground! Ended up there after the flood so bathrooms were down and no fires. But took care of us with porta pottys. Didn't mind a bit. Thanks for giving us such a great place to camp while enjoying the Grand Canyon!

We had some elk come through the campsite a couple of evenings. There was no water due to flood damage, but that meant hardly any people so it was great. Great stars at night.

Car j’ai vue après réservation qu’il n’y avait pas de prise électrique alors j’ai annulé mes 2 nuits de réservation et j’ai eu aucun remboursement ! Heureusement que la nuit étais à 30$ mais bon pour un site comme celui-ci je trouve sa aberrant qu’il ne rembourse pas les nuits de camping bien dommage

All the water was shut down, no dump station, no showers. We were given plenty of notice and came prepared after everything got wiped out by the flooding in the canyon. They had porta potties, and they we clean. Its the Grand Canyon, just being there was awesome. Our spot J110, was a pull thru with new asphalt, plenty big for our 28' trailer and truck. Plenty of sun during the day for solar and Starlink worked great. We'll be back some day.

We were at Mather during the water restriction and found the outhouses to be well maintained and the water stations for hand washing were always usable. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again. The staff is wonderful
