What Guests Are Saying

Mather Campground is highly praised for its cleanliness, spacious sites, and beautiful natural surroundings, making it a favorite for visitors. The campground offers convenient access to the Grand Canyon, with friendly and helpful staff enhancing the overall experience. While some guests noted issues like the distance to shower facilities and occasional noise from trash pickups, the positive aspects of wildlife encounters and peaceful atmosphere far outweigh the negatives.

I enjoyed this spot. Restrooms & water close by, shuttle bus was about a ten minute walk. Had a single elk pass through the site and lay down in the shade for a bit. The nearby market and cafe provide you with anything you may have forgotten. I think they literally have everything at a reasonable price.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I stayed in sight 181. Close enough to the bathrooms and a nice walk to the visitor center. Would definitely come back!

Very nice campground with good size campsites. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. There is a fair amount of sand/dust in the sites which can get into tents/bags.

The check in process is quick and easy.
The sites are ample and level for tents.
The bathroom bldg was clean and tidy. The shower house on our visit was flooded ny the toilets and a few showers were out of order.
Quiet hours seemed to be enforced.
My only thing to share is that there are ALOT of rental campers which meant lots of people walking through our site because folks don’t know campground etiquette.
Its very busy. Crowded. But for the most part a nice experience.
Close to the market and shuttle stop is right out front.

Campground was very well maintained. Bathrooms were clean. I especially liked how there was easy bicycle access from the campground to the Park facilities. The dedicated bike paths are so very helpful.

The campground was well maintained and easy to navigate. This was our first time using the wrangler tent and hammocks and worked out great with the spot we got. Most likely going to swing back through on our way home.

Beautiful area. Good campground, very popularized but we felt we felt still we had a lot of space. The bathrooms were in close proximity. However, the showers were not clean and expensive. 2.50 for 7 minutes. Yikes.

Nice camping spots with a good amount of space between sites. There are no food lockers at the sites but do not think you are safe from the crows! All the campground staff were very helpful and nice. The bathrooms around the campground were clean. I did not use the laundry but the showers (2.50 per 5 mins) were kind of rundown and gross with debris in the drain grates and yucky shower curtains.

Though we started pitching the tent at around 8pm (we waited for the sunset at Mojave Point), locating the campsite is a breeze. Love the spacious campsite, especially for just two people. Easy access to the restroom, and the spacing between campsites are just thougtfully planned. It gave us a bit of privacy and independence. Will definitely reserve again when visiting Grand Canyon (but for atleast 2 nights this time). :)
