About Burro Creek Campground

The Burro Creek Campground (1,960’ elevation) is situated along the 57 mile Burro Creek in a transition zone between the upper reaches of the scenic Sonoran Desert and lower reaches of the scenic Mojave Desert. The campground offers visitors a variety of scenery including saguaro-studded cliffs along steep canyon walls that contrast Burro Creek’s dense vegetation and flowing waters that form deep pools of water just adjacent to the campground.  The campground accepts reservations for the group site, sites 7 & 9, and 10-17. Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance of your arrival at the site. Sites 1-6, 8, and 18-23 are available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Nice campground. Friendly camp host. Good clean restrooms. Only two negatives while I was there. Site 16 is not even close to level, so it took awhile to get my camper set up. Also, they temporarily have no water. I knew that before I got there, so no big deal, but some other campers were unaware and it was a difficulty for them. And don't go to Wikieup for gas. Otherwise, a great place, and I will definitely be back!

Bathroom was clean and kept up. I was disappointed that there was no water available to put in my trailer but understand the difficulties in getting approval. Scenery is beautiful!

I almost don’t want to share because it will get too busy. This is an amazing camp ground. It doesn’t have hook ups but has very clean flush toilets throughout the small park. The views and the river are amazing!! Many different size sites to choose from. Randy ( the camp host ) was very helpful getting us to a site as we had some ‘rv issues’ and didn’t get it until after dark. The next day we spoke and she shared some things in the area to do, she was very knowledgeable with the surrounding areas and things that were available. We will definitely camp there again!

Campground and camp host were great, except for one thing. The fresh water was still turned off due to the needed permits not being issued yet. We were there for 2 weeks and had to made several trips into Wickiup (approximately 20 miles away) to get water.

Site 17 was nice and level with plenty of room. Took the trail down towards the river. Our first time to boondock (even though it was a developed campsite area) and feel more comfortable to do it again
