What Guests Are Saying

The Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great stop for travelers. Many appreciate the easy access to the river and hiking trails, as well as the reasonable pricing. However, some issues were noted, including outdated signage, limited water access for RVs, and occasional noise from the highway. Overall, it provides a peaceful, scenic experience, especially in cooler seasons.

We reserved the group campsite which says it has 12 parking spots, this is not accurate and our group has a difficult time with parking. The camp spot also isn't well marked and when we arrived there were campers in our spot.
The listing says there is water but it is only in drinking fountains as far as we could find which makes it difficult to fill large containers of water.
The freeway is pretty loud here so make sure to bring ear plugs.

Easy app to make reservations and to update reservation. Campground and bathrooms clean. Campground easy to access. Beautiful landscape with excellent trail to the river. Dark skies, quiet and no cell service! PERFECT !

We camped in site 34 in a fifth wheel. The curved drive with an island was a challenge to navigate and we did drive over the island on exit. Site was otherwise fantastic.

Campground is clean and neat. The reservation system showed most reservation only spots reserved however in actuality the campground was wide open with plenty of empty sites on the night we stayed including the reservation only spots that had shown as not available.

This was by far one of the best camping spots I’ve been in a long time, clean quiet, working restrooms, drinking water, shade. I will definitely be going back and can’t wait.

Sehr schöner naturbelassener Campingplatz, mit tollen Möglichkeiten zum Grillen. Keine Duschmöglichkeiten vorhanden.

Nice campground with a couple problems that need to be fixed. First is the bathrooms were completely covered in dead bugs. Thousands of dead bugs littered all over the sinks and floors. The toilet paper and hand paper were stocked up frequently but there was no effort in cleaning up the bugs during this. The second problem is most reservable sites sit empty while showing fully booked on the website. Having a site with a gazebo would’ve been nice when it was 98 degrees for days on end but instead I would say 90% of those sat empty. There should be some sort of check in process via QR code and if the reserved party doesn’t check in, they are contacted by email to see if they are still coming or not.

Nice campground with beautiful views. Nice access to and from the freeway but far enough the highway noise isn’t a big issue.
The only suggestion I would make is to have water available especially for people who don’t have an rv.
