What Guests Are Saying
The Virgin River Canyon Recreation Area offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with clean facilities and stunning views, making it a great stop for travelers. Many appreciate the easy access to the river and hiking trails, as well as the reasonable pricing. However, some issues were noted, including outdated signage, limited water access for RVs, and occasional noise from the highway. Overall, it provides a peaceful, scenic experience, especially in cooler seasons.

We rented a spot with shade cover. The shade covered spots can only be rented daily so our 4 nite stay had to be processed as individual reservations, ridiculous! We stayed in spot #92 which needed a lot of love. The dirt was eroded from rain, a previous camper left a manmade fire pit under the shade cover, dirt and ashes included . There was no bbq and the fire pit was busted.
The view was beautiful. Weather perfect. The nites were quiet except for an unexpected knock on the door. Person asking for gas and promising to return the $30 gas can. We were disappointed the next day. Ah-well…we did the right thing.

Great location that was near the river overlook. The lower campgrounds seemed less crowded and closer to the water.

This is a beautiful spot! Good size sites with nice fire pits and grills. Have hiking trails right out of the campground. Just a great time to sit and absorb nature!

This is a wonderful little campground. Second time we have stayed here and it is always a great place to stay.

This campsite is located off of a highway, so keep in mind that you will hear big trucks engine braking throughout your trip. Other than that, we enjoyed this spot. It was clean and quiet (other than the highway). Our site had a covered picnic table which we appreciated during some rain. Sites were spaced far apart from each other and there was plenty of room for our kid and dog to play in the dirt. Bathrooms were clean and nice. Some hiking trails took you down to the river, but they were short. Fun to wander around, but not a serious hike. For a quick weekend getaway out of town, we liked this spot. And for the low price, it was definitely a good deal.

I came in late at night, it was easy to get checked into my site. Luckily the campground was pretty empty because the sides are all right next to each other. Not a lot of privacy. The bathrooms were nice and clean and warm. I didn't stay long but it seemed like a nice campground and I would stay again.

I stopped here to break up a drive from San Diego to Park City. It is a well maintained campground in a dramatic canyon. Recommend.

Stayed at this site on our way to Utah only one night. Bathrooms were very clean and well kept. Site was very clean and beautiful scenery. If I could recommend one thing it would be that the site should have canopy’s at every site. Ours didn’t have a covering over our picnic tables. But other than that I give it 5 stars.
