What Guests Are Saying
Larry Forbis Overnight Group Site is a beautiful and spacious location with welcoming camp hosts and well-maintained facilities. The nearby river offers enjoyable activities, though accessing it requires navigating rocky terrain. Visitors should be aware that there is no drinking water available on-site and that restroom facilities may be locked.

The spot was nice and big as far as a gathering place. not a lot of level places to put tents close together. The walk to the river was very hard, over tons of big rocks. But once there the river was nice. THE BATHROOMS WERE LOCKED THE ENTIRE TIME AND THERE WAS NO NUMBER TO CALL AND ASK FOR THEM TO BE OPENED. We had to walk down the road to another day spot to use the restroom or just go in the wild for emergencies. There were visitors in the night, skunks, coyotes and scorpions. the kids thought it was cool to see them from the table tops. We did have fun no matter the inconveniences though and it was beautiful scenery.

Beautiful spot just a short walk from the river. Love the large ramadas and we'll kept vault toilets. Camp hosts were welcoming and friendly.
Only concern is that the website didn't mention that there is no drinking water available at the campground. Make sure to bring any water you will need.

Great facility, clean, and well prepared. We played in the river and went mountain biking at hawes.

Amazing location and fantastic value for all that you receive with this reservation. Plenty of space along with ample shade and seating and multiple grills and fire rings in each site. A definite must for camping by the Lower Salt!

Each reservation includes 10 designated parking spaces. These spaces can be used at your discretion for what you bring, however, you may not exceed 10 vehicles per reservation and you may not encroach on the roadway or leave the asphalt with any vehicle or equipment. For example if you have a trailer that exceeds the length of a single parking space, you may "pull through" multiple parking spaces. However, that will limit the amount of other vehicles that can fit properly in those 10 parking spaces. If you have more than 10 vehicles, extra vehicles may park in the Pebble Beach Recreation Site, but they are required to have a separate Tonto Pass. Total parking area dimensions are approximately 20 feet deep by 100 feet wide |
