The good: Walking distance to the lake. Close to creek that feeds lake. Shade from trees. Restrooms where fairly clean.
The bad: Lots of car noise as everyone driving goes to lake at all hours. Parking is up hill and across road from campsite. Only 1 parking spot. Camp host where basically none existent. Campsite where not cleaned on arrival.
The really bad: Incredibly close to campsite #69 to the point your tents are only about 3 ft away. So you WILL hear everything. Campsite is on low ground. If it rains all run off comes your way to feed the creek.

Friendly and helpful staff. Bear boxes and bear proof trash cans. The trash was removed daily. The lake is nearby. All three of my grandchildren caught their first fish!

The campsite was perfect, set back from the road for more privacy. We came it was perfect weather during monsoon season, although it was still a bit hot midday. I would recommend this campsite for the locals to get out of town for a quick getaway and experience nature.

I arrived on Sunday just afternoon and the bathrooms were clean the trash was picked up my campsite was three of any clutter or trash. The hostess was a sweet lady. My only issue was it was hot it was hotter than the weather had said it was going to be and I could hear traffic all night long. So maybe next time I go further into the campsites?

After a 10 day stay in June we came home and immediately booked our recent stay. Camp hosts Toby and Craig made their friendly rounds. Pam and Lou were diligent at the booth and Kevin kept our restroom clean. Our only excursion was to Summerhaven for an ice run.

So surprised how empty the campground was. After school starts in August is a primo time to go. The campground has no internet reception so be ready to be off line.

The lady at the check in was very special and kind. Had rained all night and was beautiful.

We stayed in the Sycamore Loop, tent spot #35. It was incredibly convenient, right by toilets and trash bins, and although some might not like that, there wasn’t a bad smell nor were there a lot of people coming and going to it due to a relatively remote location. We weren’t “on top of” other campers and felt a nice seclusion for the most part. The site seemed small at first but ended up comfortably fitting a large tent and my son actually pitched his smaller tent in another flat spot in another spot just beyond our area. My only complaint about this camp ground can’t be fixed and it’s the close proximity to the highway. We heard motorcycles and other loud vehicles ripping through the curves well into the night and it kind of ruined the “great outdoors” vibe we like (and impacted sleep). Really great spot otherwise though!

Overall loved staying on Mt. Lemmon but did not like the state our campground was left in by previous visitors. It also took several hours for us to be able to park as all of the spots near our stay were occupied by non overnight guests
