We haven't been here in a while and were reminded of how much we love this place. Many thanks to the previous guest who left it immaculate! The furniture has been updated and much of the dated stuff removed. It looked like it had been recently painted. The fireplace is now boarded up, but really it was an inhouse human smoker; so that probably needed to happen. The roads were grated, still dicey, but substantially better. There are mice inside, so bring traps (NOT POISON) and bins to keep your dry food stored in. One of the futons in back room is broken. There were no glasses- just plastic cups, so someone might want to bring some up and donate. Plenty of coffee cups and a brand-new coffee maker. Watch your step coming and going from room closest to bathroom. Our daughter fell in middle of night (she's ok) because she forgot about the 2-inch drop. Next time we will tie door shut and she can go around. Make sure to pack drinking water, dish soap, sponge, nightlights if you're up a lot, flashlights, matches or lighter, hummingbird nectar/feeder. We brought birdseed from Wild Bird and Jays were steady visitors. Enjoyed seeing deer, coatimundi, ringtail, many turkeys, hummingbirds. We have yet to see the elusive bear everyone else seems to see. This is truly a special place, and we feel so lucky to be able to enjoy it.

Second visit to cabin after many years. The cabin has two rooms with double beds and one room with two double futons (no bunk beds there now). Beds were comfortable. There is a really nice sofa/loveseat/oversize chair set in the living room area - very modern, clean and comfortable. As some reviews have indicated, it was NOT covered in dog hair and was in great shape, however, we took sheets to put over it in case it was. There were no bug issues and the oven was working fine (used to heat up pre-made shepherds pie). Bathroom was clean. Next time I would take a cordless vacuum (the one there is a corded shop vac) - floors were swept but honestly could have used a good mopping (or two, or three) - take your own supplies for that. Walking around barefoot resulted in very dirty feet. We took a couple of fans which came in handy in July although temps were fine. The cabin is awesome and we loved the woodsy vibe by the small creek - saw mule deer and several birds.

This was our 2nd visit to the Kent Spring Cabin and we love it!...wish we could live there:)

This time we discovered the nice loop of trails that starts with the nature trail, right outside the front of the cabin (off the drive loop)...it's a nice < 1m little walk, back around to the back of the cabin, if you just go left at every turn.
