Great location, toilets were clean and well maintained.. Would recommend eat buds as the site is pretty close to main road

Stayed 3 nights in Elk Loop, site 9. While the campground is very nice with large sites and plenty of privacy, the road noise from Highway 87 and air traffic from Payson Airport was a deal breaker!

good for into camping only. If you are an experienced camper go somewhere else. Plane noise, and traffic noise can be heard anywhere in the campground. This becomes too much of a negative to overlook any positive.

From Payson, Arizona, go north for 1 mile to the junction of Highway 87 (Beeline Highway) and Forest Road 199 (Houston Mesa Road). Turn right (east) onto Forest Road 199 for .10 miles. The campground is on the north side of Houston Mesa Road.
