Host was awesome, the campground was quiet when we were there and pretty pines...there was some traffic noise though because it is a bit close to the road. All in all, we had a fantastic time!

Someone was occupying my reserved spot when I arrived. They were confused about where they belonged. I went to the host site to get the problem resolved but the host was not there. I think it important for the host to be onsite during prime arrival times. I arrived about 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. This is a time when the host should be there to resolve potential problems.

Good campsite overall! Bathrooms were decent but sometimes out of toilet paper. Not a lot of shade at the campsites. The road noise was very loud, especially in the early morning.

Close to most everything to do in the area. Stop by the airport cafe for a great breakfast.

Houston Mesa is an OK campground. It does have potable water and flush toilets. These rest rooms however were not clean and sites not cleaned up. Some of the sites are nice and spacious, others not so much. It is a very busy campground. They have a confusing system of reservations and first come- first serve which limits availability for either one. The road noise is very loud and constant night and day. A very busy highway runs right by the campground. I would stay here again if there weren't other options and I was able to get one of the shadier and nicer sites.
