I grew up camping at Houston Mesa and it remains the first campground I check whenever we're heading in that direction. It is a very "city camper" friendly campground. Which is why my wife loves it lol. She love hiking and sitting by the fire, but she needs a shower at the end of the day. The hosts are friendly, they do a good job of keeping things tidy. We will definitely be coming back again and again.

We love the campground but our space Mountain 12 needs the trees trimmed. The space is tight and I didn't appreciate the scratches on the driver side of my rv. Please take care of this as we would like to stay in the same place next visit.

Beth was an amazing camp host! Hands down the cleanest bathrooms and site we’ve ever stayed at!

This campground was in a beautiful forest but a bit chilly in early November. We left after the first of our 3 night reservation because the showers nor the dump station were working. It was disappointing that we were not notified in advance and it seems impossible to get a refund (I called and also emailed). I selected this campground for our Arizona tour based on amenities offered on the Rec.gov website and thankfully we were able to get a last minute site at Lost Dutchman State Park near Phoenix. Everything there was as advertised.
