What Guests Are Saying
Ponderosa Campground offers spacious, clean sites with helpful camp hosts and well-maintained facilities, making it a pleasant camping experience. Many visitors appreciate the peaceful environment, despite some noise from the nearby highway. While some sites may be challenging for larger trailers and have limited shade due to recent tree thinning, the overall positive atmosphere and convenience to town make it a favored destination for campers.

The campground was was nice. The camp host was great. The problem we had was with unruly campers up all night yelling, playing loud music, ect. The camp host made it clear to this party, the police would be called if they acted this way again. This group of people was quiet the following night, however a new large group came and were up all night yelling, screaming, playing flashlight tag( shining into our tent). They peed all over the toilet several times and made a mess in the restroom. Also left a huge catering pan of spaghetti and trash next to the community water source. Not the experience I was looking for.

We enjoyed the campground very much. The hosts were very friendly and attentive to the bathroom and checked a few times a day. Our spot’s fire pit did have a significant amount of ashes when we arrived, but I’m not sure whose responsibility it is to clean that out. There were also 5+ stumps of cut down trees in the middle of our spot along with a rock that had rebar coming out of it (which seems dangerous). There was a bit of road noise because the 260 is busy but it wasn’t constant. Beautiful view of the stars at night. Overall we would stay here again, maybe even in one of the group spots! For those looking for first come first serve spots or needing an extra vehicle tag, there is a digital kiosk up front to pay for that.

The campground is clean and easy to get to. It was disappointing that the quiet hours weren’t held up with some campers playing loud music well past 10pm. And there were some RV campers with a couple really loud generators so if you’re used to private tent camping, choose your site wisely. Ultimately, worth the price though for a quick getaway.
