Amp host was awe full two years in a row. It’s a sham you charge $50.00 a night with no full hookups and you have to deal with a guy who calls himself a volunteer. A volunteer does get free rent, solar power and and a paycheck. I think its awefull you raised rates 125% since 2019 and you get a minus rating on the condition of the camp sites when you arrive. Thanks AZNF. The last review basically covered a crack whore durning the same time last year. This year the camp host was no help could be bothered to fill out a ramp pass and handed a photo copy of a ramp pass and never left his low mower converted to a golf cart. 1/2 of the camp ground was totally shut down. We pay 125% more and get 125% less. You suck.. you have sucked with the service for the last 5 years. You are are charging astronomical rates for what?

We had a good time. It is nice fishing while reading a book. This time we stayed at Cholla/Buckhorn loop on lieu of Teddy Bear loop. We began camping during President's day weekend and the sites closer to the lake were all full (they all opened up that following Tuesday). There still were some sites at Buckhorn further from the lake and it was a nice site with large distance between spaces with ample space for my ground solar panels. I took 800 watts of solar power knowing that it would be cloudy/rainy a couple days so we would not need to run our generator. It snowed on the surrounding hills one night. (Camper has propane heat and we were prepared). The cell booster gave us 4G with 5 bars but the internet was intermittent. Only early morning and late at night. Voice and text was fine.

We heard from others that the fish were not biting and we had the same experience (suspect it was the cloudy water near the shore from the rain the previous week).

While the campground has no hookups at any of the sites, it's a very well maintailned place with nicely marked hiking trails all around. We had a great Presidents Day weekend there. Very lovely site and I look forward to visiting again! Very nice that it has fresh water and dump inside the campground and available 24/7.

We had not visited Cholla before and were very happy with the physical facilities, the campground hosts were wonderful, and the views from our campsite were amazing. There was enough vegetation cover to partially block our view of other campers, and everyone was obeying the rules about late night noise.
Two things I want to mention. First, the RV dump is open 24/7, not only Sunday and Tuesday. Secondly, in the campsite information when selecting a site on Recreation.gov, some of the specifics about the sites was incorrect. I had originally booked 185 and 187 on the information that RVs would be able to back into the campsite. However, before we arrived we discovered that all vehicles at those two sites had to park on the road. Fortunately we were able to switch to another site that would accommodate all our vehicles off the road.
