The campgrounds were kept nice but to fish was really bad. You had to climb down a steep rocky cliff to get to the water. They need to put in access for people to get to the water

Nice campground. This is our winter go to campground. Close to water and fishing. (Lake was very low this last time). We spend at least three hours fishing each morning. My wife caught three good size catfish bottom fishing from shore.

It has one of the best prices we have found. It is $12.50 a night with a senior pass. Good cell/internet service. Just turn off and on airplane mode to re-establish internet when phone drops to 3G. There are playgrounds for the kids and hiking trails. The odd number sites can be reserved in the winter. There are some full time people staying in even number sites.

Lots of sun and clear sky's so solar works great. We have a 4kw generator but hardly ever run it because batteries charge up by 1 pm each day with 400 watts of solar.

Not a problem for us because we are self contained but if you don't know the place you should know that only the restroom/shower buildings at the entrance to the loops are working each time we are there. (Don't understand why people clog the restrooms and dump with diapers and underwear. They have waist dumpsters.) Dump opened back up the Monday we were there.

The camp host was fantastic, but even as a Solar expert, he couldn’t fix the outdated and broken solar. For a campground that prides itself on being all solar, it was a huge disappointment. And, beware: no solar means NO HOT SHOWERS or lights in the bathrooms (at least in the Buckhorn Loop.) I’d love to return, but I’d like a discount next time for the extra I’ll spend on buying my own solar shower bag.

Nice place. Bathroom was clean and tidy garbage areas. Don’t care for all the RVs and the running generators. Would like to see Cholla separate out tent camping in one loop and noisy RVs in another loop
