campsite was very clean and spread out from other sites. we loved that it had a shaded area with the picnic table under it. it was a little bit of a hike down to the water but it was secluded which was nice. the water area doesn’t have a beach are so take your chairs, drinks, and umbrella with you because there is NO SHADE down there.
the bathrooms are closed which is why i didn’t give this a 5 star review. the porta potty is near the actual restroom building it wasn’t to terribly icky just inconvenient. bring toilet paper!!!

Crowded. Campsites very close to others. Site attracts large groups and rowdy crowds. Nice to be at the lake, but probably won't come back here!

It is a beautiful site and everything was perfect except for the Porta-potty. It look as though it hadn't been serviced in months. And I understand it was just after a weekend, but it still was basically over capacity.

The restrooms were closed due to a water problem, ok, but the porta potty was unusable literally filled to the top, and the campground had very few campers, also there was a group camping playing very loud music yelling, obviously very drunk, the camp host was invisible, it was a shame because it was a beautiful place

I was super unset about paying 25 dollars a night plus tax for a camping spot that was supposed to have showers and restrooms instead we get there and the showers are closed because of a water leak and the have porter potty's instead

Cholla Campground is 5 miles north of Roosevelt Dam. From Mesa: Take State Hwy. 87/Beeline Highway north for about 60 miles to its junction with State Hwy. 188. Turn right and follow State Hwy. 188 south for 28 miles to the site. From the Globe area: Take State Hwy. 188 north for 30 miles to its junction with State Hwy. 188. Continue on State Hwy. 188 across the bridge for 6 miles to the site.

General
- Maximum stay limit is 14 days within 30 consecutive days on the Tonto National Forest including dispersed areas. During June, July, and August temperatures reach well over 100° and many RV air conditioners cannot keep up. Maximum trailer length is 32'. Extra (second) vehicle charge of $8 per night is required. An RV towing a car counts as one vehicle and a vehicle pulling a trailer counts as one vehicle. There is a maximum of two vehicles at a single family campsite and four vehicles at a double family campsite. An RV towing a car counts as one vehicle and a vehicle pulling a trailer counts as one vehicle. Fee can be bundled with online reservation or purchased on-site at fee machine. Maximum of 2 vehicles per single campsite and 4 for double campsites.Boat ramps are usable when water elevations are higher then 2,110 feet.Fireworks are always prohibited on National Forest Land.
