Located on central Arizona's largest lake, Windy Hill offers great water recreation opportunities to the public. Because of its close proximity to the Lake, Windy Hill allows fishing, non-motorized and motorized boating, along with hiking trails. There are plenty of developed campsites available at Windy Hill, which allows for an easy, quick escape during any time of the year for families and individuals.

Everything was great the campground was in great shape. I just wish you would remove the concrete parking barriers in the pull throughs where we park our RVs. They are a tripping hazard and it seems they are always in the wrong spot when parking the RVs
PLEASE GET RID OF THEM
Also I’m very happy to see the forest service have got the RV dump station back, great job
Other than concrete barriers I had a great experience at Windy Hill

Campground host Ben did absolutely nothing when we arrived, to find our campsite taken by other campers. It was left up to us to find somewhere else to camp. He did not want the confrontation with those that were in our reserved campsite. What’s the point in making a reservation when the host won’t do his job? Extremely disappointed.

We stayed at Coati campground at Windy Hill. What a wonderful campground! Our campsite had a fabulous view of Roosevelt Lake. The camp host, Mike, was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. We really appreciated the separate loading ramp for kayaks! Campground was very clean, especially the bathrooms and showers.
We will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful trip. Unfortunately we were unable to launch from here due to the low water and closure of the ramp. Did shore line fishing instead, lots of good exercise. The camp sites are large and most of the ones at Windy Hill have at least one tree. The views from our site were beautiful. The restrooms and showers are spotless.

First time to the Windy Hill campground. It was very clean, and the bathroom was spotless! The showers were clean and refreshing. They could have been a little hotter, but they were very adequate.
The campground host was very helpful and courteous! By the way, we were in the Coyote section. Fishing was a little slow but, that's fishing.......

  • Stay limit 14 daysMax trailer length is 32'. Length restrictions of 20 feet in Coati Loop. Rules and regulations are posted at all fee stations. Please read and observe.Please use trash receptacles or Pack it in, Pack it out. Sewage dump facilities are located across from Cholla Campground 8 miles north on Hwy. 188During June, July, and August temperatures reach well over 100° and many RV air conditioners cannot keep up. Fireworks are always prohibited on National Forest Land.
