Beautiful setting, very clean pit toilets. Charcoal grills with lids were about to be installed at each campsite.

Great Small Campground. Loved my time there. It's definitely on my short list. The entrance is small and pops up on you real quick. Keep a sharp eye out for the entrance and be prepared to break quick. It is at the bottom of a canyon so it does get cold in the mornings. Bring a Buddy Heater. Also, as said, it is small and that includes the parking spots and there are lots of boulders to watch out for. Don't be afraid to get out often and make sure you are lined up properly. They do have firewood for sale. I think it was $7 a bundle when I was there. There is a ruin to the north. I never did get the story on that. I think it might have been an old school house. Also for those wanting to checkout the Sterling Pass Trail, you can reach the tail head by taking a path by the ruins. You don't need to walk along the road. I think that is all my advise. Enjoy!

From Phoenix, take I-17 north to Exit 298 for Highway 179. Take 179 north to Sedona. Turn right (north) onto Highway 89A in Oak Creek Canyon and travel 6 miles to the campground.
From Flagstaff, take I-17 south and exit for Highway 89A toward Sedona. Travel 23 miles south on 89A (a winding mountain road) into Oak Creek Canyon. The campground is located just south of Slide Rock State Park.
The campground is accessible via I-17, with Exit 298 for Highway 179 leading into Sedona. Highway 89A runs north from Oak Creek Canyon, providing direct access to the campground.
Elevation: 1828 feet
6.9 mi drive to downtown Sedona (about 13 min)

- Tents only; no oversized vehicles, trailers or RVs allowed
- Bring confirmation letter to the campground
- Only 1 vehicle allowed per site. No additional parking available.
- No hookups available
- No horses or off-road vehicles allowed; motorbikes may only be used for entering and exiting the campground
- No radios or amplified devices allowed

- No portable showers or toilets allowed in campground

- Campsite cannot be unattended more than 24 hours
- The camping stay limit in Red Rock District is limited to 7 days
