I know this was a tent campground, but I expected the parking spot to be part of the tent site. We had a camper van and were basically given a parking spot that was so small we couldn’t even open the back doors. We ended up leaving and going to a nearby dispersed campsite because we couldn’t stay at Manzanita. Some of the sites were good - just not 12-15.

Manzanita campground is a small, well-maintained campground. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning with many access points to Oak Creek, which is well stocked with fish. The primary negative is the small campsites and very limited parking space and the campsite borders on some sites were not obvious. Camp hosts were always available and resolved issues in a timely manner.

Very good camp ground, easy to find. As it's close to the river, it's actually quite cold and shaded, so this can be both a pro and a con, depending on your season.

We loved our camping spot. We had a quiet camping spot among the trees and next to the river. Our two toddlers were able to play well there. Friendly camping host. No showers but there were toilets and we could take drinking water.

Camp Hosts, Korey, his wife Anna and Kim, another camp host made my first experience camping in Manzanita a pleasure 😁🏕
My rental car needed a jump start, Korey came to the rescue even when he was "off duty" !
I stayed in #12 . Oak Creek was right next to my campsite. Bathrooms were always clean 👍
Follow the "Creek trail" to a pool area. Bring your floaties! It's refreshing, the pool. 6/16-20/24 was my stay.🏕🤠😍 I'm going to return ASAP!!!

From Phoenix, take I-17 north to Exit 298 for Highway 179. Take 179 north to Sedona. Turn right (north) onto Highway 89A in Oak Creek Canyon and travel 6 miles to the campground.
From Flagstaff, take I-17 south and exit for Highway 89A toward Sedona. Travel 23 miles south on 89A (a winding mountain road) into Oak Creek Canyon. The campground is located just south of Slide Rock State Park.
The campground is accessible via I-17, with Exit 298 for Highway 179 leading into Sedona. Highway 89A runs north from Oak Creek Canyon, providing direct access to the campground.
Elevation: 1828 feet
6.9 mi drive to downtown Sedona (about 13 min)

- Tents only; no oversized vehicles, trailers or RVs allowed
- Bring confirmation letter to the campground
- Only 1 vehicle allowed per site. No additional parking available.
- No hookups available
- No horses or off-road vehicles allowed; motorbikes may only be used for entering and exiting the campground
- No radios or amplified devices allowed

- Don't Move Firewood: Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood near your destination and burning it on-site. For more information visit dontmovefirewood.org.
- No portable showers or toilets allowed in campground
- No cutting, chopping or splitting wood within the campground
- Campsites must be occupied first night of reservation
- Campsite cannot be unattended more than 24 hours
- The camping stay limit in Red Rock District is limited to 7 days
