The fishing and hiking are the two things I enjoy most. Just be sure to have rain gear.

The campground was very clean and had everything we needed. The camp hosts were especially friendly. If we go back I want to rent a boat to use at Big Lake.

I thought the camp grounds and facilitiies were well taken care of and it was a good stay for the summer after graduating college.

Excellent place to go fishing, relaxing and to enjoy a good time with family and friends. We have been going to Apache Trout Campground for the past few years with other nine families. It is a trip that we plan every year and our group of families keeps on growing We are planning on many more trips to Apache Trout in the future.

This is 6 months later....... I don't remember specfics other than clean, well kept up. Would go again!

Rented a double space and there was no way we could park 2 trailers on it, hook ups are in unreachable places and prices were ridiculously high. Camp hosts were rude and obtrusive and didn’t know the rules to pricing. Asked one, got one answer, asked another, got a different answer. Bad experience, will never go again!

From Pinetop, Arizona, take Highway 260 east 25 miles to Highway 273 south. Follow Highway 273 south 19 miles to Forest Road 8115 (Big Lake Entrance). Turn right and travel 3 miles.
Apache Trout Campground is accessible via Highway 260, which is approximately 25 miles to the west, and Highway 273, which is about 19 miles to the south.

General
- Standard Single Family sites: Recreation Use Fee allows ONE camping unit ONLY. Double and Group sites: Refer to Specific Site # for capacity limits.
- FIRST COME FIRST SERVE sites must be booked in person. DO NOT call to determine availability, as they are only available on-site.
- Extra Vehicles: Cannot be paid for in advance - upon arrival coordinate with the host for payment and where to park.
- campers are not considered a "no-show" until 24 hours after arrival date check in time. Our policy is that your site will not be released before that.
- Opening and closing dates are weather permitting, please call 928-537-8888 for more information.
- Bears frequent the area; please obey all food storage rules and regulations. Check with your host for details.
