What Guests Are Saying
Apache Trout Campground is a well-maintained, beautiful location with friendly and helpful hosts, making it a favorite for annual trips among many campers. The facilities, including clean bathrooms and the proximity to Big Lake, enhance the camping experience, while the spacious group sites cater well to families and friends. Some minor inconveniences, such as locked showers at night and occasional noise from neighboring campers, have been noted, but overall, visitors appreciate the serene environment and excellent service.

All the host are so incredible. Most of the men are retired Public Safety & the woman working the gate are very knowledgeable & friendly . Like the one host said, “WE SELL HAPPINESS”. The entire group works well together & fun to chat with! During our visit there was a water main break & was kept informed - all campers were notified when water was turned on. I am still waiting for the follow up email promised from Rec.gov per our phone call about a refund that I was supposed to to get? Great job but so extremely hard to reserve a full hookup spot during the summer months.
Hopefully, we will see ya next year!

Pat, Mark, Lisa, the whole team and staff at Apache Trout are top shelf. Only issue is I feel we overpaid, no disabled veteran discount via my America The Beautiful Pass.

Around 7th time there. This time, we received nothing but harassment about vehicles barely parked on grass, vehicles parked on road, parked at the handicap spot at restrooms, etc. We are military veterans and have never experienced such harassment. There was this man whose name was Mark, he was the harasser. He needs to go! One statement one guy told us about being barely parked on the grass was, he was trying to save us from getting a ticket?? In the seven times we have been there, I have never ever seen a forest service vehicle there giving tickets?? We will never return there again.

Very clean campsites, fishing was really good with the lake being down. The Sunrise Park is a great day trip for kids and adults to enjoy.

This is our 4th visit to Apache Trout, the staff are amazing every single time. This year we sprang for a group site and the site was huge, no issues whatsoever. The easy access to the Marina Store, amazing views, helpful staff, clean restrooms, hands down our favorite campsite in all of Arizona!! If I could add one thing to my wishlist again it would be for some cell boosters or wifi
