What Guests Are Saying
Bonita Canyon Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and well-maintained sites, making it a lovely and peaceful place to camp. Hikers enjoy the breathtaking views and trails nearby, and the campground's quiet atmosphere enhances the overall experience. However, it has limited space for large RVs, no cell service, and some sites can be quite close together, which may be a downside for some campers.

The campsite was very clean and the ranger was so helpful. I had a great time with the group I brought, the only unfortunate thing about the site was that quiet hours were too early at 8. Other than that the campground was wonderful. I Will say ,if you haven’t been here before make sure you have everything you need before you arrive there is no stores nearby.

Cool and shady even on a very hot day. Spacious sites, friendly camp host, clean flush toilets. We were lucky be there for a dark sky event, shuttle was provided from campsite to Faraway Ranch

It’s a lovely spot but needs some upgrades in terms of the bathroom. One sink and two stalls is really not enough for the size of the campground. An outdoor sink for washing dishes would also be great to have.
We had 9 spots reserved for our hiking club. We would’ve used the “group site” instead but were told we could only have a maximum of 6 tents - we had 10 tents but they were small and 2 could’ve fit on each tent site. The 2 camper vans and one truck camper would have fit into the “parking area” along with the 6 other cars which we had. A better description of the group site and less stringent rules would have made it possible for us to book the site allowing the 9 sites we had to be available to other campers!
We were also disappointed that the shuttle to the hiking trails wasn’t operational during the week.

The campground was beautiful, small and tidy, with lots of tree cover, plenty of room at each site, and views of the mountains nearby. Each site had a table with benches and firepit. Our site was clean and deep enough for our RV to fit easily. There were clean restrooms nearby, secure food boxes and garbage cans, and a hose bib for potable water right across from our campsite. The site host, Joyce, was welcoming and helpful. She took the time to make sure we understood the site rules while being friendly and nice. Overall, our stay was outstanding and we hope to return soon!
