Beautiful campground inside a beautiful, underappreciated gem of a park. Because of the proximity of the camp sites to each other, it's probably better to camp inside a vehicle instead of inside a tent. Your vehicle can help block any unwanted sound (like neighbors' snoring!).

Woodsy, cozy campground, surrounded by Chiricahua National Monument. Quick stopover, perfect for me and my dog and our van. Nice camp host!

Our third visit to Bonita Canyon Campground in Chiricahua National Monument was just as pleasant as prior visits. We knew ahead of time that the campground restrooms were closed for remodeling, we were impressed with the quantity and cleanliness of the temporary portables available. The campground, trails, and Visitors' Center were clean and well maintained. The few Monument staff we encountered were pleasant, knowledgeable and professional.
I understand the financial cutbacks to the National Park Service as well as the overall lack of federal support this year; I continue to be impressed with how the staff manages with such financial limitations. I also understand that, as a National Monument, this beautiful area is subject to "federal administrative whims" and I am simply glad it is still a protected part of our great nation!
