Bonita Canyon Campground is praised for its picturesque setting, well-maintained facilities, and clean restrooms, making it a favorite for many repeat visitors. Campers appreciate the spacious, shaded sites and the beautiful hiking trails nearby. However, some reviews mention issues with noise from neighboring campers and a few negative interactions with campground hosts, indicating that privacy can be a concern. This is a great campground. Always clean.
I love that there's a bathroom and that it is always clean as well. Friendly camp host.

This was a true cool spot in a desert heatwave. The elevation and the trees at most sites kept temperatures at a livable 90 degrees in the day and a restful 70 at night. The canyon rock formations were stunning, and can rival any western park — difference— not as crowded. Wildlife spotted on the ground— a wild turkey and one rabbit.

The campground was very beautiful. We enjoyed most of our stay there. However, there was a very rude campground host who, instead of coming to us in our camp to tell us to turn a lantern off, yelled at us from the roadway. She was not very nice and we were unnerved by her yelling. We turned off the lantern and when another guest and I walked down to the restrooms after this incident there were 4 other campsites with lanterns on. She never went to them and told them to turn their lanterns off.
The next night, a group of campers drove in very late and set up camp by one of the campsites we had reserved and were staying in (We reserved and used 3 campsites) who stayed up most of the night talking loudly and smoking marijuana. At no time did any of the camp hosts visit that site and tell those campers to be quiet.
I would like to see better communication skills on the part of the camp hosts/campground attendants. Also, if there are several campsites where rules are being broken, then they all should be addressed and not just one site.
