What Guests Are Saying
Bonita Canyon Campground is praised for its beautiful setting, clean facilities, and well-maintained sites, making it a lovely and peaceful place to camp. Hikers enjoy the breathtaking views and trails nearby, and the campground's quiet atmosphere enhances the overall experience. However, it has limited space for large RVs, no cell service, and some sites can be quite close together, which may be a downside for some campers.

Bonita Canyon Campground is a very nice campground for tents to 24 ft RV's with no hookup's. The host Lee did a great job and was very friendly and helpful. I camped 2 nights and did 4 hikes.... Heart of Rocks Loop from the Visitor Center the first afternoon, the Massai Nature Trail and the Grottoes the 2nd day and the Natural Bridge Trail Hike the last morning. Chiricahua National Monument is a hidden treasure that everyone should visit and enjoy... it's a magical place!
There is no cell coverage in most of the park. There was 1 bar signal at Sugarloaf Parking area, good enough for texts.
There is WiFi at the Visitor Center, so I was able to stay in touch with friends and family using WhatsApp over WiFi.

We love this part of AZ and the park but this was the first time we stayed at the campsite. Beautiful, clean campsite - we were very pleased and would certainly come again!

This is a beautiful campground in a wonderful location. The sites have good sized tent pads that are level and well maintained. Past the campground there are great hiking trails and overlooks. Prior to the campground is the historic ranch with interpretive signs. The campground is quite a bit cooler than the surrounding area, so be prepared for a chilly night. Only negative comment is the limited bathroom facility compared to the number of people staying here. Maybe add a few port-o-lets for the busy times?

Great, dog-friendly campground! We did the Silver Spur Meadow Trail straight from the campsite and saw lots of turkey and deer and a couple coatimundis. Bathrooms were clean and camp host was super friendly.
