Site 18 - Very nice 24 site National Campground. Fri Sat Sun, rangers, shuttle guests to the top of the park (One way only) but easy 5-ish mile hike back to campground, primarily down hill. Great hiking and biking, we rode E-bikes to the top and back 6 mi each way. Like a small Brice Canyon, beautiful! Strict generator rules but beautiful quiet place. We camped at Bonita Canyon Campground, Chiricahua Natl Mon in a 27' Motorhome.
Tip for Other Campers: Understand the vehicle size rules. Up to 29' allowed to campground, only 24' allowed beyond campground. 2 large depressions one entering the campground and one leaving. Our 27' motorhome with a bike hitch made contact with the pavement on both. Not much room for maneuvering or getting out of the way.

Snagged a last minute spot at Bonita Canyon, and so glad we did. Campground was beautiful, and spaces didn’t feel cramped, despite being relatively close together. Was concerned about previous review that mentioned rodent activity but we had no issues. Will definitely be back!

Beautiful quiet campground

Bonita Campground is set in quiet woodlands with breathtaking views of rock walls. The bathrooms are well tended and clean. The hike to Faraway Ranch is an easy and enjoyable 2 miles round trip from the Bonita Campground through a beautiful wooded area. Be very careful to read and believe the restriction for each campsite. Most campsites have a limited ability to back into due to large rocks or trees and a narrow street. Small campers and tent will have the easiest time getting situated in most campsites. We love this campground! It is a great base camp for all of the great hiking trails in the Chiricahua Mountains. Don't miss the Echo Canyon Loop!

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
