we wish the campground opened and stayed open longer into the early winter, it was so beautiful - and easily accessible just north of the I-40, though you can't hear the traffic. For us, the forest floor in mid September was awash in yellow wildflowers, the temperatures were moderate, the campground quiet. We stayed in loop B and had a site with a distant view of the lake (lovely!), but if you don't want the sound of generators disturbing the still evening air, try for a site in loop A. But even the generator people are respectful of the quiet.

A stunningly beautiful, well maintained campground. Mostly RVs around us, which as tent campers meant that the restrooms were clean.

Very nice campground! I had a pull through site in a 40 foot class A with a toad and it was simply like a pull over spot from the campground Road. Very convenient and very nice. Wood and ice were for sale and the campground hosts were very nice and friendly. I would definitely go back.

We reserved one of the group sites and it was amazing. The group site was way better than I had anticipated. The attendants were great, very friendly and helpful. I really liked that they closed the gates when we were all there so that it was closed off for just our group and had the ability to get more Ice and Firewood as needed. Only suggestion for the group site would be to have a group camp fire area. Other then that we really enjoyed our time and definitely will be back.

We rented kayaks and paddle boards and had a great time. Some of us were not prepared for heavy rain.
