What Guests Are Saying
Choctaw Recreation Area is a beautiful and well-maintained park with polite staff and spacious campsites, particularly in Section D, which offers great views of the lake. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the park and its peaceful atmosphere, making it a favorite spot for family camping. However, there are concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the lack of water hookups at campsites, along with some trash overflow issues.

Need water at sites or closer than the dump station. Trees need to be removed at back of pads so camper can be safe

We hadn’t camp there 20 years but been up there several times visit over years love it there . Would be nice to have water hook ups. Y’all need to get the buzzards & seed ticks under control. I seen bustards do serious damage to few vehicles. Couple mornings I spent couple hours running them off. Our spot was nice & peaceful. Had to leave a day earlier had get home take care something but hope next time stay longer that is where I was born and got to watch the lake while be built my great Uncle use to farm that area . That place really means a lot for my wife& I.
