What Guests Are Saying
Choctaw offers a beautiful and well-maintained campground with clean facilities and friendly staff, making it a pleasant spot for camping. Many guests appreciate the spacious campsites and scenic views, particularly in D-Section, and highlight the attentive service from staff like Ms. Jeannie. However, some reviews mention issues with bathroom cleanliness and a lack of water hookups at the sites, which detracted from their overall experience.

We always tent camp in D24. It has the most level ground, the most shade, and easy access to the swim area, toilets, and water. It is NOT close to the showers.
Two things to note-
The fire pits are the worst I've ever seen. The design is terrible, they are extremely close to the ground, and most of them are half buried. It is pretty much impossible to get coals, firewood, or charcoal under the grill without taking everything off the grill and turning it over. Besides the bad design, most of them are rusted nearly to pieces- there are lots of sharp, jagged, rusted edges present. You have been warned.
The second thing is, the roadways are fine for bikes etc, but are way to rough for skates, longboards, skateboards, or scooters with similar wheels. Which is disappointing for us as a family, because the kids favorite pastime (read energy-burner) is not possible.

Do yourself a favor and stop here if you’re anywhere near the area. The place is beautiful and peaceful with barges providing entertainment. The best part though was the host couple. They were super helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel like we were home with family. I hope they’re there again when we come back through.

Love it here! Love management!!! The best!
But Cleaning stuff in bathrooms is WAY to STRONG And perfumy for people with breathing problems or sensitive to smell. We couldent go in for showers.
Even My grandaughters couldent go in 😑
But other then that absolutely love it there and visit was excellent!

Camp Oversight Lady was 5 star as usual. She is always super nice and accommodating when you check in. Great addition to B and C sections adding water to the sites.

We stayed here overnight only. A4 has a has a substantial slop which takes almost half of the camper parking area. With a 30' camper and two pop-outs were weren't able to pull our wheels to the end of of the site (there's a big tree), and therefore ended up with our hitch being very close to the ground when leveled. We also had trouble with the 50 amp hookup. It didn't seem to put out the full 50 amps as some of our outlets didn't work.
The part itself was clean and beautiful.
