Great location, tall pines, on the river, quiet, 4x heated bath with shower, love it!

Dam Site River Campground offers a beautiful, shaded location along the White River, ideal for fishing with clean, well-maintained facilities. Many campers praised the spacious, private sites and the friendly camp host, making it a favored destination for repeat visitors. However, some concerns were raised about the early checkout time and the need for upgrades to the shower facilities.

We love camping at the dam site during the summer months! We thought we’d give the winter months a go, but the site was not cared for during the winter months.

Damsite River Campground is one of the few campgrounds that are open year round in Northwest Arkansas. The winter season is from November 1st to March 31st. During this time period the water at the individual campsite is shut off to prevent damage from pipes freezing. There is a potable water source at the park entrance to fill your fresh water tanks not far from the dump station. For the same reason the only restrooms that are open is the shower house in the Pines and the vault toilet by the boat ramp. The volunteers that take care of this campground do an excellent job.

The campground is only 12 mi from Eureka Springs, has clean and flat camping spots, a fairly clean bath house with warm showers, etc. We appreciated the shelf above the sinks in the restrooms and the heat in the building.

When we arrived, we found the trash container not only overflowing, but scattered for quite a distance. Ugh.
The campground is divided into two loops - both have restroom/shower houses, but for some reason only one was open. It would not have been difficult to have one room open in the upper loop for the convenience of those camped near the boat landing.
