We have been coming to Bidwell for years. Love the location, love the host that has been there for number of years, and have generally loved the park. But we have also noticed the decline of it over the years. Of particular concern is the condition of the bath house, and lack of water pressure and hot water. Hope things return to a condition that, as AR residents, we can be proud of again.

The lake was so clear with beautiful rock bluffs and nice swim areas. Most all the campsites have a very nice lake view. Wasn't impressed with the showers and the campsites were not trimmed down. Grass and weeds were high and growing up in the gravel area. A really nice lake for kayaking. Would go again.

This was our first trip here. We had mixed emotions about this park, but mostly it was good. It appeared to be an older COE campground. Most electric hookups were 30 amp, and even though water was readily available for hook-up several hydrants were not close to the campsite. Had to use an extra long hose to reach our camper. Not normal. We had Site 8 which was long and mostly level, well shaded, and much open space on either side. Of all the spaces available we felt this was a choice site. However this park has several sites that seemed to be too close to each other. One negative about site 8 is that a prior camper had tried to burn trash in the fire ring and it didnt burn. Nor was it cleaned up before we got there. Overall, the park needs a bit of TLC. There was a large pile of downed trees that should be cleared out, and the beach area could be leveled out a bit better. The beach was usable but had many ruts where water had washed the sand out. Shower/bathhouses were clean but on the older side. Would we come back? Yes because we like the area. But we have stayed in nicer COE Campgrounds.

Beautiful area. Campsites are very nice and clean. Little to no cell phone coverage in the area. It's a good place to stay if viewing Big Spring.
