We went in late August after school started back and campground was very quiet, not many campers on site so that was very nice. Only downside was that it was the end of August and it was hot. Campground sits in a low hollow below the lake damn with lots of trees so there was not much breeze. River was not flowing much due to decreased volume out of the dam so did not bring much relief. Other than the weather, the campground is just beautiful. We had a wily racoon who was able to open ice chests and enjoys, grapes, peaches, lunch meat and hotdogs so secure the lid to your ice chest! Bathrooms are kept clean and showers worked. Nice play ground for the littles. Would return again.

We enjoyed the stay. The park is very well maintained. However, the price is getting a little too high.

The campsite was very shady and level and wide enough to open all three slides. Electric was behind and was almost to far away for our 25 foot cord, water connection needed both hoses. THERE IS NO CELL/INTERNET SERVICE AT ALL!! Not even Emergency Services! There were almost no bugs in the evening but take care with your trash and ANYTHING holding food because the trash panda's (raccoons) are VERY active, smart, and into EVERYTHING! The only thing that put a dent in the weekend was two campsites, #15 and 16, that had about 12 15 to 17 year old teenagers and at least one adult male. It seems that their main objective was to become cross-eyed drunk and the "adult" was driving the pickle truck there. The Karaoke machine (who brings one of those camping???) was blaring until well after 11 pm, the bathrooms housed all of the kids that had bent their elbows a few too many times, and the adult wanted to fight one of the other campers that had asked them to quiet down while they all huddled around the bathrooms after midnight because he thought the camper had called him "boy". The next day, police and Corps of Engineers showed up to ensure that all at the two camp sites were escorted out. We will be happy to return and hopefully there won't be anymore drama.
