GeneralUSACE is planning the drawdown in a partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is expected to begin May 1, 2026, when the lake will be lowered to elevation 374. The lake is expected to reach this elevation by July 25, 2026, and will remain at this elevation until Nov. 1, 2026. The lake will gradually return to elevation 384, depending upon rainfall. During phase two of the drawdown, designated swimming areas within the parks will be closed. Boat access will be limited to a temporary ramp located at Ashley Creek Park. Water activities such as skiing, tubing and the use of personal watercraft will be prohibited. Boaters visiting the lake during this time are encouraged to use extreme caution due to shallow water and submerged hazards. For more information, contact the Nimrod-Blue Mountain Project Office at 479-272-4324.

Always enjoy my stay at Waveland Park while fishing for crappie on the lake and river.
The park is well kept except for the tall grass. It could use weed-eating and or mowing around the campsites and firepit charcoal was just thrown into edge of campsite and not disposed into dumpster properly.
The restrooms were a little unkept..one door in shower needs to be replaced instead of shower curtain hung by zipties (looked tacky and dirty).
So glad that the fish cleaning station was cleaned up and fenced to keep the buzzards off the cleaning tables. Big improvement!
Over all was a very good stay with sunsets like no other place. Gorgeous!

The park is beautiful, and well kept. Loved the cypress groves. Would have liked to see more trash cans around. The bathrooms and shower areas were nice, they even had hand soap.

We love this park.Sites are a bit unlevel though. The shower house has no privacy area for getting dressed. We stayed here three times this season. Especially fun during swimming season and fall.

- We have combined the Waveland and Outlet gatehouses to more efficiently serve you. We are using the Outlet area gatehouse only. It is located at the top of the hill directly in front of the project office.
- All sites are reservable.
- Park attendants are on duty.
- Certain areas of the lake and parks may close due to high lake levels or storm damage
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
