GeneralUSACE is planning the drawdown in a partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is expected to begin May 1, 2026, when the lake will be lowered to elevation 374. The lake is expected to reach this elevation by July 25, 2026, and will remain at this elevation until Nov. 1, 2026. The lake will gradually return to elevation 384, depending upon rainfall. During phase two of the drawdown, designated swimming areas within the parks will be closed. Boat access will be limited to a temporary ramp located at Ashley Creek Park. Water activities such as skiing, tubing and the use of personal watercraft will be prohibited. Boaters visiting the lake during this time are encouraged to use extreme caution due to shallow water and submerged hazards. Campsites need lots of work and updated for larger campers. We can’t get our new camper into site 50. Very poor construction

We had one of the best unobstructed views of Mount Magazine from our campsite along with a good view of Blue Mountain Lake. We had a very pleasant 3-day stay. Everything was clean and well kept. We will be back again soon! There are quite a few cozy camp sites for travel trailers or tents nestled in the woods of the peninsula where we were. Also, there is a nice beach on the south side of the park. I would recommend this camping area to any one.

The camping sites are too close together. The bathroom ran out of toilet paper. Good thing we had some. Other than that we like this campground.

One bathroom facility for 51 camp sites. Bathroom was filthy. Camp site was on the side of a hill. No level ground for a tent. Had to sleep in truck for three nights because of the constant wind and rain. Terrible experience. Would never go back to this camp site again.

General
- We have combined the Waveland and Outlet gatehouses to more efficiently serve you. We are using the Outlet area gatehouse only. It is located at the top of the hill directly in front of the project office.
- All sites are reservable.
- Park attendants are on duty.
- Certain areas of the lake and parks may close due to high lake levels or storm damage
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
