The location was beautiful, with a lake, swimming area, and hiking. Unfortunately, our RV site was horrible uneven and we spent enormous amounts of time trying to get the RV even remotely even. It's a nice spot to recreate for several days.

As usual, Kirby is my go to and happy place. However, on this trip, the current camping couple on our site thought they had the site an extra day than they really had. Therefore, after discussing this with them and showing them my confirmation, they had to pack up and vacate the camp site. I felt bad for them as they actually thought they had the site an extra night. We didn't get camp setup until about 6:45 that evening. Then we had to go half way across the lake to meet friends for the fireworks show. It all worked out at the end of the day.
Now the heat was another thing. It was unbearable unless you were in the water or in the AC of your camper. None of these negative things are a reflection of the camp site by any means. I still call this my happy place and will continue to camp here. It's convenient as my boat is docked in a slip in the Kirby Marina and easy to beach the boat at our camp site. The sites are clean and well maintained (I do wish they had mowed the grass before weekend of the 4th instead of after the weekend), and the bathhouse is clean, has AC and pretty central to the camp grounds.
In summary, Kirby is my favorite campground on beautiful Lake Greeson and I enjoy it immensely!
