Maumelle park was a good location for a visit to Little Rock, and the Arkansas River Bike Trails. Overall our visit was nice, although some areas need improvement, such as the aging showers and bathrooms near the boat ramp.
On our arrival, our site had not been cleaned up from the previous campers. There was trash and old firewood scattered around. My wife and I cleaned it up. It really gave us a bad first impression of the park.
Despite the initial impression and concerns, our stay was pleasant and quiet. We enjoyed watching the river barge traffic, and the proximity to the Arkansas River Bike trail for a nice 25 mile bike ride. We also made a visit to the nearby Pinnacle Mountain State Park for a little hiking and sightseeing. Grocery stores, restaurants were just a quick drive outside park. We would return for another visit if we are in the area again.

We stayed in the "A" loop and were extremely lucky to have a site with a covered picnic table, especially when it rained.
Beautiful park but the old bathrooms in our loop have no ventilation to release moisture from the shower which makes the entire bathroom stay wet, if you go in to use the restroom after someone took a shower it's like walking into a sauna especially when the heater kicks on when it's over 70 degrees outside.
The park should consider installing ventilation fans through the ceiling like most other campgrounds.
As usual in COE parks there are no hooks on the walls to hang your towel and clothes, I'm going to start carrying a supply of command hooks to install in bathrooms while using COE facilities.
Other than that the park is beautiful, well kept and the personnel at the gate are great.
