Maumelle is a beautiful park with plenty of space between sites. Very convenient to shopping if that’s your pleasure. I do have a couple complaints though. What makes this park so beautiful is the grounds. Over the last couple years the administration has become very lacks in some of the established rules. People not controlling their loud dogs and dogs not on leases (as per established rules) is a problem. Another issue is people parking in the grass causing mud holes during and after rains. The park in relatively low and flat on the river without real good drainage, yet the Rangers continue to let people park off the paved parking causing deeper and deeper ruts. The COE rules clearly states “No Parking Off The Pavement”. One last thing. There is a maximum of two vehicles per site. Often there are 3-4 vehicles per site causing part of the problem of people parking in the mud holes.

Maumelle park was a good location for a visit to Little Rock, and the Arkansas River Bike Trails. Overall our visit was nice, although some areas need improvement, such as the aging showers and bathrooms near the boat ramp.
On our arrival, our site had not been cleaned up from the previous campers. There was trash and old firewood scattered around. My wife and I cleaned it up. It really gave us a bad first impression of the park.
Despite the initial impression and concerns, our stay was pleasant and quiet. We enjoyed watching the river barge traffic, and the proximity to the Arkansas River Bike trail for a nice 25 mile bike ride. We also made a visit to the nearby Pinnacle Mountain State Park for a little hiking and sightseeing. Grocery stores, restaurants were just a quick drive outside park. We would return for another visit if we are in the area again.

The campground is accessible via State Route 10 (SR-10), which is the main road leading west from Little Rock. Pinnacle Valley Road provides direct access to the campground from SR-10.

Policies & Rules
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
