Cottonshed Park is a well-maintained campground with friendly and helpful hosts, particularly praised is Park Attendant Stan. We love camping at Cottonshed Park. However, it is not always mowed when we get there, and in the summer months, snakes like that tall grass. The canopies over the picnic tables are a great addition, but obviously the people who build these things do not camp. Campers cannot even open their awnings because the canopies over the tables are too close to the camper pad. None of these things will keep us from camping there, but it does affect which spots we get. We used to always prefer the south loop, but good grief, they cut all the trees. Ridiculous. I know they have their reasons with which I do not agree. But, that's the way it is. We will be there again soon!
We like to drive over to fish at White Cliffs area as well.

The only thing was the grass need to be cut. The site manager did a great job at the check in and all through the park, is a wonderful person and very helpful on warning every one about the storm and came around checking on everyone after the storm. It is great to have someone that loves his job and willing to do the best he can and watching out for everyone. Thanks a lot

Beautiful sunsets but the bugs will eat you alive. Like normal lakes it is at times very windy. Firepit and grill were full of ashes. No shade. Grass needed mowing around the water and electric hookup. We use to park host so we like a clean campsite. We normally pick up cigarette butts, trash and clean out the fire pit and grill at nearly every campsite we camp at. We always try to leave the campsite better than we found it.
