About Aux Arc

Download a park map HERE  Aux Arc Campground sits on the shores of Ozark Lake in the picturesque Arkansas River Valley. "Aux Arc" is a name that originated with French explorers when they mapped the territory. The term means "the big bend," describing the bend in the Arkansas River. Over time, the name was simplified to "Ozark," thus the name for Ozark Lake.

We love that park. However this time the grass was so high it was taller than our little dog. We ended up getting ticks off of us. Otherwise it was ok

Aux Arc is a hidden gem. I’m glad it is close to us. 80% of the campsites have a lot of room and privacy.

our site shared a driveway with our neighbor but we still had plenty of space and privacy.

Beautiful view of the river and even an oriole nest.

Bathroom need a good clean

We stayed at Site B19 and overall had a good experience. The campground is well maintained with level concrete pads and a nice layout. Verizon service was excellent throughout our stay.

A few things to be aware of: most sites are located along the main campground road, so there can be a fair amount of traffic. If you’re looking for a quieter area, the smaller F Loop appeared to be a better option. Our site was next to the playground, which made it a little noisy at times with kids playing nearby. The railroad across the lake is active, and trains could be heard regularly. The Butterball plant across the lake also has bright lights that are noticeable after dark.

Site B19 was reasonably easy to access, but because of the way the site is positioned relative to the road, backing in required a little more maneuvering than some sites. We also had a minor issue with water leaking at the spigot.

None of these were major problems, and the campground itself was attractive and well maintained. We’d stay here again, but next time we’d probably choose a site farther from the playground and main road.

Reserved a camping spot. When we arrived, three other vehicles were in the spot with people cooking and drinking. The camp hosts moved us to another spot with no problems.
