About Aux Arc

Download a park map HERE  Aux Arc Campground sits on the shores of Ozark Lake in the picturesque Arkansas River Valley. "Aux Arc" is a name that originated with French explorers when they mapped the territory. The term means "the big bend," describing the bend in the Arkansas River. Over time, the name was simplified to "Ozark," thus the name for Ozark Lake.

Such a beautiful campground. Everyone was very helpful, it was very clean, and the sites were very level. We really enjoyed the wildlife, especially the family of geese with their babies. We aren't over that way very much, but we hope to be able to stay here again.

We we’re disappointed that our site was littered with excessive garbage all over such as beer bottle caps, candy wrappers and fire pit full of cigarette butt’s,tin foil. Both bathrooms were very dingy dirt scummy.Location is convenient for sightseeing the other area attractions.Be aware A lot of train noise from tracks across river. We never saw a camphost clean any sites after campers left.Which is probably why so much garbage was in our site.

Excellent campground.

Half the sites back up to a beautiful lake. The bath houses are clean, the hosts are present without being overbearing, and the campground is convenient to restaurants and grocery stores without feeling urban.

The site was easy to back into, fairly level and the view was great! The loose gravel all around the picnic table was the only issue. We are in our 70's and loose gravel is hard to walk on and you're afraid of falling every time you step on it. Loved watching the tugboats pushing barges through the locks. Did not love all the trains and all the horn blowing but they never bothered our sleep.

The only issue I had at the campsite is the train across the lock, all day all night.

Park was clean and quiet. Most spots were level. B05 was spacious, a little sunny in the evening. Nice area down to the water.
