We were just passing through the area but found a great place to stay for the night.
The park was beautiful, plenty of space between campsites, quiet, and no lights shining on us in the night. The sunset was awesome, and in the morning we watched a barge pushing through, fascinating.

Nice views immediately overlooking the Arkansas River. Facilities well-maintained. Campground host friendly and especially helpful in replacing an all-access card lost when my wallet was recently stolen.

We stayed at Rising Star for one night as a halfway stop for a trip to and back from Gulf Islands National Seashore. Rising Star is a well layed out and clean campground, level concrete pads, has nice spacing between campsites and extremely clean bathroom/shower facilities. The campground host was very friendly and helpful.

Love this park. Host super friendly and accommodating. Restrooms very clean. Quiet and dark. Loved it. Only complaint is water pressure was very low. We were the only camper here most of the time.
