The pad was level and the site was basic. Couldn’t do anything but sit inside or walk the road because the grass was so high; they are actually bailing parts of the park. With just a little maintenance, this would be a four star facility.

We stayed for one night. The camp host was nice enough, and we did get to see an armadillo. However, the park itself is a complete mess right now. The Army Corps of Engineers isn't mowing the grass due to a contract dispute. Because the grass is so long, the dragonfly situation was a total nightmare. They were swarming so thick you couldn't even sit down without them flying into your head and landing all over you. It got so bad we actually had to leave our site and go hide out at a Sonic just to wait for the sun to go down so they would stop hunting. To top it off, the bathrooms are a very far walk from the tent sites, and when you finally get there, they are old and a total pit full of bugs. The host was fine, but the park management is dropping the ball completely.

The park is always a nice quiet place to stay the week or weekend!! Plenty of good fishing . Plus the restrooms and showers are always kept clean. We try to stay at least a week every year. We love it down there. And as far as the park staff goes you couldn’t ask for better people. If you ever get a chance to stay don’t hesitate! You will love it there.

Beautiful lake side and Lakeview sites. Level concrete pad on premium sites.
Be sure to pick up a map at registration, signage isn’t normative.

Nice and quiet off the interstate, not too expensive for our overnight stop. Great little campground. Would have rated it higher but apparently the only reason the grounds were mowed was because the guy next to us called and complained about it a couple days before we got there
