What Guests Are Saying
Prairie Creek offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience, with clean facilities and a lovely location by Beaver Lake, perfect for outdoor activities like boating and hiking. Many visitors appreciated the spacious sites, helpful staff, and the amenities available, including a marina and restaurant. However, some campers noted issues with poorly marked trails, uneven sites, and maintenance concerns, particularly with exposed hazards and cleanliness. Overall, it remains a favored destination for many.

Our visit and first camping experience with a travel trailer was great! Prairie Creek is a perfect place to camp!

Nice, clean facilities. Safe to leave camp set up and explore without worrying about anyone bothering my stuff. Very nice people who work the entrance.

Site #7 should be permanently closed. It is on the slope of a hill, and it felt like a 45 degree angle, side to side. Even with 5 inches of leveling, our trailer was uneven. The site is also very rocky and had roots and small stumps sticking up as trip hazards. We had a reservation for three nights, but we left after the first night. This is the worst site we’ve seen in 40 years of camping.
The workers in the booth were extremely nice and competent.

The camp site was perfect. Showers were a bit of a walk. The primary negative was the showers. I will never understand why showers are constructed with very durable tile and with very nice stall dividers for privacy but the floor slopes toward the area used for dressing and the shower curtains are way to short. The result is one has to try to dress while standing in a puddle of water! It’s like a 10 year old did the design! Also showers were nearly cold. Other than that it was a great experience.

The only reason we didn’t give it 5 stars was it was opening weekend and our water connection at the site had frozen and busted over the winter. We adapted and still had a fantastic time.

Went during the winter months so no facilities open but the park was clean and well maintained. We camped in #72. Will definitely go back! Close to Rogers to get food/supplies and lots of hiking close (Hobbs State Park & War Eagle Caverns).

Beautiful campsites, spaced far apart, with walking trails nearby

My experience was excellent, however my reservation for April for site 96 was cancelled apparently because there won’t be adequate staff to care for the area. I’m hopeful this can be corrected soon. Several area COE parks seem to be in disrepair; War Eagle has a nice bath house, but I haven’t found a level site. I looked at the site I’ve reserved at Hickory Creek and found it’s not going to be level either.
Thank you for the nice new sites at The Dam Site Park, and Indian Creek is looking good!

Nice campsites, although all restrooms but one were closed and that one was nasty with no showers.
